Ricardo at PDX |
In my small roller carry-on:
Ricardo |
2 Yoga block (also new from a second hand store. I left it in the wrapper so it stays clean)
3 Skirts - one reversible
2 Tank Tops -one black, one white
6 Pants - one yoga(for Kalari in the red dirt) two baggy harem style, one long wide legged, one cotton loose)
9 Shirts - Mostly cotton solid colors
1 Night dress thinger
3 Bras
16 Underware
A few toiletries and miscellaneous travel items.
Possibly some chocolate and Lara bars, just in case.
A water bottle.
Empty space!
I also took a smallish backpack with things I’d want under the seat in front of me on the plane. Some books, passport, charger, cards that my sweet boyfriend gave me to open during my travels, snacks, and anything I wasn’t willing to loose, In the event that Ricardo and I got separated.
I didn’t wear one of the pants at all. The clothes I take to India are primarily from second hand stores or I’ve purchased from past trips in India. I don’t typically wear any of them except in India and they have a special place on the top shelf of my closet. They are pretty specific to the region or a yoga retreat in a warm climate.
I love compression bags for squishing my clothes and leaving Ricardo more spacious.
I found a new Gaiam’s folding yoga mat at a second hand store a few years ago. At the time I
thought it was a tablecloth! It took me a year to open it, then wonder for another few months what it was. The original packaging was gone but it was new in a wrapper. I figured it out in time for my first trip to India and it’s been there and back with me 3 times. I really like it! I could probably get away with a thinner one, but this one was approximately $2 US dollars so I’ll keep using it! It fits great inside my carry-on luggage.
